Koran 70:3-5

70:3 [It is] from Allah, owner of the ways of ascent.

4 The angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years.

5 So be patient with gracious patience.

Koran 70:3-5
Stairway to Islamic Heaven, or is it?

Muhammad lied. There are no “ways of ascent”.

But, Infidel, you can’t know that, it’s invisible, only angels can pass there, it’s a mystery beyond your comprehension, etc! The Earth is round:

Earthrise – Earth from Moon

No static structure can survive from Earth’s surface to space, and quite plainly, there is none.

But, Infidel, it’s to Allah in Heaven, it’s insubstantial, it’s perfect, invisible and doesn’t require human materials or even sci-fi materials! We know it’s imaginary because Muhammad is boasting:

The angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years.

Koran 70:4

A “day” only lasts about 24 hours, and it is that way because of the Earth’s rotation. Thus, no day lasts “fifty thousand years”. This period is to emphasise the grandeur of the angels and the “Spirit” descending and ascending.

But there’s worse. Who is this “Spirit”? Why isn’t it named Jibril?

But, Infidel, it’s named “Jibril”! No, it’s not. It’s called “the Spirit”.

But, but, Infidel, it’s named “Jibril”! Again, no, it’s not. Here are the scholars of Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 70:1, who write:

Abdur-Razzaq reported from Mamar from Qatadah that Taruju means to ascend.

In reference to the Ruh, Abu Salih said, “They are creatures from the creation of Allah that resemble humans but they are not humans.”

It could be that here it means Jibril, and this is a way of connecting the specific to the general (other angels).

It could also be referring to the name of the souls (Arwah) of the Children of Adam (humans). For verily, when they (the human souls) are taken at death, they are lifted up to the heavens just as the Hadith of Al-Bara’ proves.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 70:1

So why is there a need for the “Spirit” to ascend up and down over 50,000 years? There is none. In fact, this acts against Allah, Jibril and Muhammad. And if you refer to Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 70:1, this refers to a period of torture porn, addressed to the wealthy of Mecca, to force them to give money and camels to Muhammad’s Muslim bandits.

What this staircase is, is something both special and very mundane. It’s this, the Roman amphitheatre in Petra, Jordan:

Roman Amphitheatre, Petra, Jordan

And why did Muhammad think that this Roman Empire amphitheatre, which he probably spoke at frequently to the Quraysh, was like the stairs to Allah? It’s because of a drawing, like this:

Ptolemaic System, seven classical planets and their seven apparent orbits – Muhammad’s 7 earths and 7 heavens

The staircase to the heavens is the apparent “orbits” of the classical planets “ABOVE” the flat Earth, which is like the Roman amphitheatre above. The staircase to the underneath of Earth, to the 7 flat earths, the 7 classical planets, of course, is not represented by the amphitheatre steps. In Muhammad’s mind, he sees the angels that are imaginary stepping up and down the amphitheatre steps, to and from the heavens, to and from imaginary Allah.

Here’s another photo of the amphitheatre in Petra, this time from the front, showing where the speakers would stand, and their view of these steps, up to the “heavens” above:

Notice verse 5 demands patience. But Muhammad ran out of patience, collected his Muslim bandits and attacked Mecca, murdered those of his tribe that opposed him, and forced the rest to be all Muslims, so he wrecked Petra, AKA Mecca. So, Muhammad failed his own call to be patient, showing he was a false prophet, for a false god, Allah, for a false religion, Islam, without even a false book.

The best replacement for this passage is: “”, the empty sentence.
