Koran 29:1

Alif, Lam, Meem

Koran 29:1

This is a “Muqattaʿat” or Mysterious Letters. As the Koran is supposedly the clear and perfect words of perfect Allah as recorded in perfect Allah’s perfect Qur’an, this sentence should not exist in Muhammad’s Koran, as they are not clear and they are not capable of being translated into English words. Thus the best replacement is: “”, the empty sentence.

Also note that earlier, in Koran 2:1, the translators have:

Alif, Lam, Meem.

Koran 2:1

Note the missing period in Koran 29:1 or the addition of the period in Koran 2:1.

Which one is right? Obviously, this is a translation issue, where the translators are incoherent in their translation. But worse, this is the repetition of a phrase, of something unclear, thus contradicting the supposed oneness of Allah.

Later the Muslims at Qur’an.com fixed the translation adding a period. Notice that Allah didn’t help.

The best replacement for this passage is: “”, the empty sentence.
