Koran 19:22-26

19:22 So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place.

23 And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, “Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten.”

24 But he called her from below her, “Do not grieve; your Lord has provided beneath you a stream. 25 And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates. 26 So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone, say, ‘Indeed, I have vowed to the Most Merciful abstention, so I will not speak today to [any] man.'”

I’ve collected two passages together to make one intelligible passage.

Note Muhammad is unable to name places: “a remote place”. This is obviously another corruption of the continuing story from the previous passage: Koran 19:16-21. As a reminder, the Bible has:

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

NIV Luke 2:4-7

Perhaps Muhammad didn’t understand what a manger or guest room was?

Note the peculiar sentence and belief of “Mary” who said:

Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten.

Died, and in “oblivion”, forgotten? Why is it so peculiar? It either names a place that is not present in Muhammad’s theology, of Islamic Paradise and Fire, “Oblivion” or a “state” of mind, “oblivion”, destruction of the mind, death. In other words, the belief of the Quraysh is that death destroys the person, forever. They’re only remembered by their descendants and do not live on, in an imaginary afterlife. Obviously, this is not Mary speaking. It’s one of Muhammad’s Muslim women, in childbirth, who still believes in the Quraysh beliefs. And why is she reciting Quraysh beliefs? Because she’s not important enough to Muhammad to teach Islam too.

Note especially the miraculous speaking of Jesus as he’s being born to Mary. Note that no permission from Allah is asked by Jesus, to speak before he’s capable of speaking by himself as an adult. Perhaps this account of childbirth seems more in accord with Muhammad watching a child born to one of the women of his Muslims, instead, of Muhammad speaking as “Baby Jesus”. Note the typical phrase of Muhammad: “your Lord” to refer to the Christian god, GOD, and then the insanity of the last sentence, which shows immediately that Jesus is divine and not one of “humanity”, but is voiced by Muhammad here.

The best replacement for this passage is: “”, the empty sentence.
