Koran 7:160-162

7:160 And We divided them into twelve descendant tribes [as distinct] nations.

And We inspired to Moses when his people implored him for water, “Strike with your staff the stone,” and there gushed forth from it twelve springs.

Every people knew its watering place.

And We shaded them with clouds and sent down upon them manna and quails, [saying], “Eat from the good things with which We have provided you.”

And they wronged Us not, but they were [only] wronging themselves.

161 And [mention, O Muhammad], when it was said to them, “Dwell in this city and eat from it wherever you will and say, ‘Relieve us of our burdens,’ and enter the gate bowing humbly; We will [then] forgive you your sins. We will increase the doers of good [in goodness and reward].”

162 But those who wronged among them changed [the words] to a statement other than that which had been said to them.

So We sent upon them a punishment from the sky for the wrong that they were doing.

Koran 7:160-162

Muhammad commits shirk with: “We”, “Us” or “Our”, placing Allah as a companion to himself, showing that Allah is incoherent, imaginary, and fictional, and so Islam is incoherent with monotheism, thus Islam is contradictory and false.

Muhammad lied: “And We divided them into twelve descendant tribes [as distinct] nations.” Note that the 12 tribes were already established in Exodus long before Moses was born, so we know this is a lie by Muhammad, who also commits shirk by placing Allah beside himself with “We”. Let’s check in Torah and Bible, NIV Exodus 1:

These are the names of the sons of Israel who went to Egypt with Jacob, each with his family: Reuben, Simeon, Levi and Judah; Issachar, Zebulun and Benjamin; Dan and Naphtali; Gad and Asher. The descendants of Jacob numbered seventy in all; Joseph was already in Egypt.

NIV Exodus 1

There were 12 sons, each being the patriarch of a tribe that made up the 12 tribes of ancient Israel. This obviously means that Muhammad was a liar, as usual, as 12 patriarchs forming 12 tribes is quite a human thing, not a divine ability or creation by imaginary Allah.

Note that Muhammad has Moses do a miracle: “‘Strike with your staff the stone,’ and there gushed forth from it twelve springs.” Except that this is a contraction of several events in Exodus. First, this entirely non-miraculous account of the Israelites camped near 12 springs and 70 palm trees in NIV Exodus 15:27:

27 Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there near the water.

NIV Exodus 15:27

Note that this is a miracle of coincidence, 12 springs for 12 tribes and 70 palm trees for the 70 elders of the Israelites.

Then this later miracle in NIV Exodus 17:1-7:

Water From the Rock

17 The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, traveling from place to place as the Lord commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink. So they quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water to drink.”

Moses replied, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the Lord to the test?”

But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?”

Then Moses cried out to the Lord, “What am I to do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me.”

The Lord answered Moses, “Go out in front of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go. I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel. And he called the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarreled and because they tested the Lord saying, “Is the Lord among us or not?”

NIV Exodus 17:1-7

Muhammad badly summarises with: “And We shaded them with clouds and sent down upon them manna and quails”. It is shocking how lazy Muhammad is. See for yourself how badly Muhammad summarises NIV Exodus 16. Note that this chapter of Exodus occurs BEFORE chapter 17 quoted above.

Muhammad lied in verses 161-162. These aren’t part of the Exodus story at all, but according to Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 7:160:

…while these Ayat were revealed in Makkah.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 7:160

As shown by Tafsir, Muhammad is actually speaking about his own trip from Medina to Mecca after defeating the Quraysh in battle. The punishment from the sky seems to reflect the devastation inflicted upon Mecca by the Muslim bandits which is seemingly like divine punishment.

In short, Muhammad turned the story of Exodus into a story about himself travelling from Medina to Mecca. It’s mythologising his personal history while pretending to be Moses and divine. Muhammad shows his god is imaginary and pretends to be God himself. This is obvious lies, shirk and nonsense, showing that Allah, Islamic doctrine and Islam are all false. As such, the best replacement for this passage is: “”, the empty sentence.
