And when you divorce women and they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or release them according to acceptable terms, and do not keep them, intending harm, to transgress [against them].
And whoever does that has certainly wronged himself.
And do not take the verses of Allah in jest.
And remember the favor of Allah upon you and what has been revealed to you of the Book and wisdom by which He instructs you.
And fear Allah and know that Allah is Knowing of all things.
Koran 2:231
Muhammad spoke about Allah in the third person. This means this passage is not the perfect words of the perfect Qur’an from perfect Allah. Thus, Allah is false, imaginary, and fictional, which means Islamic doctrine and Islam are nonsensical and false.
This verse continues the pagan custom of tormenting women by divorcing them repeatedly. How? Muhammad: “…retain them according to acceptable terms…” which is, presumably, reconciliation after two divorces, but notice that there’s no punishment upon the man for simply initiating triple talaq yet again. This continued mockery of the oneness of marriage shows that Muhammad is not following Judaism or Christianity, but is instead badly modifying the laws of pagan polytheism of the tribe he was outcast from. Note also the impotence of Allah in preventing these problems. All Muhammad has is just threats from Muhammad Allah.
…a man used to divorce his wife, and when her `Iddah came near its end, he would take her back to harm her and to stop her from marrying someone else. He then divorced her and she would begin her `Iddah and when her `Iddah term neared its end, he would take her back again, so that the term of `Iddah would be prolonged for her.
Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 2:31
Note that this is a second passage about divorce. Soon there will be another verse. Thus showing Muhammad can’t plan ahead and Allah doesn’t have omniscience or even wisdom. This means that Allah is imaginary, that Islam and Islamic doctrine are incoherent and evil towards women, and Muhammad is stupid. Thus the best replacement for this verse is: “”, the empty sentence.
