2:81 Yes, whoever earns evil and his sin has encompassed him – those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.
82 But they who believe and do righteous deeds – those are the companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally.
Koran 2:81-82
This passage contradicts Islamic doctrine, in that Allah creates people for “Fire” or “Paradise”, without regard for the person’s beliefs, sin, good, evil, or righteous deeds. In Islamic doctrine, the believer is fated to go to the “Fire” or to “Paradise”. This is well known from history too, as Muslims are well known to be fatalistic, as opposed to Jews, Christians, and westerners, who believe in Free Will.
For more about this, see: Islamic Fate?
But perhaps you disagree with this and think that Islam does have free will for you as the believer, despite Allah who wrote your destiny while you were a baby in your mother’s womb. Then perhaps you can explain how the West has the concept of Free Will and does better because of that concept? Can you explain where the well-known historical fatalism in historical Islam and Muslims seems to come from, if not from Islam?
But worse is this, this passage is essentially Muhammad badly rewording Christian doctrine. Here’s how Allah would really state it if he was real:
Those who do good, go to Heaven.
Those who do evil, go to Hell.
Pretend Allah
Note the symmetry and conciseness. Note that the need to believe has been removed, because obviously there’s no need to believe in a real Allah, just like there’s no need to believe in clouds, sky (even if it’s imaginary), Earth, mountains, people, cows, etc. There’s only a need to believe in Islam, to believe in Muhammad, when Allah is not real.
But, what about BELIEF? You need to believe in Islam to be a Muslim. So what happens to people who do good in their lives and didn’t know about Allah and would have converted if Muhammad had come to them and warned them? Note that Muhammad is unable to conceive of this quite reasonable possibility and thus is shown to be the creator of this passage, unwilling to consider the fate of those who don’t know about Allah.
And again, that belief, is it the belief of the Jews? The belief of the Christians? Or is it believing in Islam, believing in Muhammad? It seems from this verse that Muhammad is promising his believers, his FOLLOWERS, a good “reward”, and good deeds are being redefined by Muhammad as obeying his commands, not by doing inherently good deeds. See: “…they who believe and do righteous deeds…”. Note the phrase “righteous deeds”, not “good deeds”.
But, Infidel, I just don’t believe you! Then why not believe in this:
In shāʾ Allāh, also inshallah, in sha Allah or insha’Allah, is the Arabic language expression for “God willing” or “if God wills”. The phrase comes from a Quranic command which commands Muslims to use it when speaking of future events.
Wikipedia, Inshallah
Fatalism comes from the Koran. No Free Will in Islam, despite the best efforts of Muslim apologists to assert otherwise.
In the West, we will and assert that the chosen future will happen and make it so. I willed and asserted I would write an illustrated Koran that debunks every chapter, passage, and verse, and here it is, appearing in front of you, created by me from nothing.
Thanks to a friend from a live stream with Christian Prince who reminded me about Fatalism, shown by Christian Prince in the nonsense of Islam. You know who you are and I thank you for your help! Also, I thank Christian Prince for his education about Islam, available on YouTube.
The best replacement for this passage is: “”, the empty sentence.
