Muhammad – Psychotic?

Yes. Why? See: Wikipedia Psychosis and another diagnosis from his repetitive stories and Muhammad’s own admissions in his recitation, Muhammad’s Koran.

Muhammad’s own admissions in his Koran

Muhammad is not describing a god, but his own multiple personalities, with:

Your Lord is most knowing of what is within yourselves. If you should be righteous [in intention] – then indeed He is ever, to the often returning [to Him], Forgiving.

Koran 17:25

Muhammad’s alternative personalities, each had access to Muhammad’s memories, or is “most knowing of what is within yourselves”. Yes, Muhammad was mad and most likely was psychotic and had Dissociative Identity Disorder. Undoubtedly this came from his emotional abuse in childhood, which, IIRC, included sexual abuse, not helped by Muhammad switching personalities and causing his caregivers to assume he was possessed, which he effectively was.

Criticism of Muhammad in his Koran

Then do they not give thought? There is in their companion [Muhammad] no madness. He is not but a clear warner.

Koran 7:184

[Remember, O Muḥammad], when Allah showed them to you in your dream as few; and if He had shown them to you as many, you [believers] would have lost courage and would have disputed in the matter [of whether to fight], but Allah saved [you from that]. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.

Koran 8:43

And they say, “O you upon whom the message has been sent down, indeed you are mad.”

Koran 15:6

But they say, “[The revelation is but] a mixture of false dreams; rather, he has invented it; rather, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign just as the previous [messengers] were sent [with miracles].”

Koran 21:5

He is not but a man possessed with madness

Koran 23:25

Or do they say, “In him is madness?” Rather, he brought them the truth, but most of them, to the truth, are averse.

Koran 23:70

[Pharaoh] said, “Indeed, your ‘messenger’ who has been sent to you is mad.”

Koran 26:27

Has he invented about Allah a lie or is there in him madness?

Koran 34:8

Say, “I only advise you of one [thing] – that you stand for Allah, [seeking truth] in pairs and individually, and then give thought.”

There is not in your companion any madness. He is only a warner to you before a severe punishment.

Koran 34:46

And were saying, “Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?”

Koran 37:36

Then they turned away from him and said, “[He was] taught [and is] a madman.”

Koran 44:14

But he turned away with his supporters and said, “A magician or a madman.”

Koran 51:39

Similarly, there came not to those before them any messenger except that they said, “A magician or a madman.”

Koran 51:52

So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman.

Koran 52:29

Or do they say [of you], “A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time”?

Koran 52:30

The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, “A madman,” and he was repelled.

Koran 54:9

You are not, [O Muhammad], by the favor of your Lord, a madman.

Koran 68:2

Which of you is the afflicted [by a devil].

Koran 68:6

And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the message, and they say, “Indeed, he is mad.”

Koran 68:51

And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe.

Koran 69:41

Nor the word of a soothsayer; little do you remember.

Koran 69:42

And your companion is not [at all] mad.

Koran 81:22

Wikipedia

Psychosis is an abnormal condition of the mind that results in difficulties determining what is real and what is not. Symptoms may include false beliefs (delusions) and seeing or hearing things that others do not see or hear (hallucinations). Other symptoms may include incoherent speech and behavior that is inappropriate for the situation. There may also be sleep problemssocial withdrawal, lack of motivation, and difficulties carrying out daily activities.

Wikipedia, Psychosis

Schizophrenia is a mental illness characterized by abnormal behavior, strange speech, and a decreased ability to understand reality. Other symptoms may include false beliefsunclear or confused thinkinghearing voices that do not exist, reduced social engagement and emotional expression, and lack of motivation. People with schizophrenia often have additional mental health problems such as anxietydepression, or substance-use disorders. Symptoms typically come on gradually, begin in young adulthood, and, in many cases, never resolve.

The Koran is full of Muhammad’s delusions, bizarre behaviour, hallucinations, disorganised thinking, and paucity of thought and speech. One symptom I haven’t noticed yet is the Flat Affect. This might be because it was simply not noticed by people around Muhammad, as a calm period before Muhammad went obviously crazy again.

Demon Possession Revealed

The thunder is the words, the thoughts are the lightning.

Abu Sa’id exclaimed, “How hot your fever is, Messenger of Allah!”

He said, “We are like that. The affliction is hard on us, but the reward is doubled for us.”

Excerpt, Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 510

And whoever is killed wrongfully, We have given his heir the authority.

Muhammad in Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 17:33

The “We” is a symptom of demon possession or alternative personalities in Muhammad, in situations where Muhammad was NOT speaking as Allah, reciting Muhammad’s recitation, Muhammad’s Koran.

Symptoms from Childhood

It’s evident that Muhammad had false beliefs or delusions and saw and heard things that others did not or hallucinations, and this was noted from childhood, with carers complaining that Muhammad seemed strange and demon-possessed. His speech in the Koran is incoherent repeatedly. He also had incoherent speech and inappropriate behaviour. It’s evident he also had sleep problems, staying up late at night to compose bad Koran verses.

The really big indicator is his Koran, his recitation:

Their results show that automated analysis of the two language variables—more frequent use of words associated with sound and speaking with low semantic density, or vagueness—can predict whether an at-risk person will later develop psychosis with 93 percent accuracy.

Islamic Fate – Symptom of DID

This is where Muhammad’s concept of Islamic Fate comes from:

Some describe this feeling as being a passenger in their body rather than the driver. In other words, they truly believe they have no choice.

Dissociative Identity Disorder #2

Muhammad’s incoherent notion of Islamic Fate comes from his madness, his Dissociative Identity Disorder, and from some effects, that I note in Islamic Fate?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a common, chronic, and long-lasting disorder in which a person has uncontrollable, reoccurring thoughts (obsessions) and/or behaviors (compulsions) that he or she feels the urge to repeat over and over.

National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), OCD

Muhammad’s fetish with repetitive cleaning, phrasing and repetitive passages in his recitation, his Koran, might be due to OCD or could be due to psychosis.
