Mother of the Book

The Mother of the Book refers to “Surah Al-Fatiha“, the first chapter of the Koran. This is also referred to in other verses of the Koran:

Allāh eliminates what He wills or confirms, and with Him is the Mother of the Book.

The footnote for this verse has: “The Preserved Slate (al-Lawḥ al-Maḥfūẓ), in which is inscribed the original of every scripture revealed by Allāh.’ This is obvious nonsense because this is assigning merely human, written languages to Allah, along with inscription (tool use) on a slate (physical object), thus shirk. A real god has no need for books, scrolls, slates, inscription methods and so on. This is because a real god has omniscience and simply remembers everything in our limited universe.

43:2 By the clear Book, 3 Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur’ān that you might understand. 4 And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom.

Notice carefully, the language of Verse 4:

And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom.

To simplify, this means that the Book is in the Mother of the Book with Us. This like a pearl in a shell:

And in Muhammad’s time, a “bookcover” is like a scroll cover:

Thus, the Mother of the Book is the book cover of the Book of Allah, which is the Book of the People of the Book, which is the Bible.

To further confirm this:

Muhammad: “I will teach you the greatest Surah in the Qur’an before I leave.”

[1:1-7]

Muhammad: “Surely, it is the seven oft-repeated verses.”

Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 8:24

Notice Muhammad’s words and this verse:

And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur’an.

  • “seven of the often repeated [verses]”

This is the reason why Muhammad’s Prayer to Allah is at the front of the compiled Koran. It’s the cover for the rest, in Muhammad’s time, when he couldn’t make book covers.
