Lies like Dust in the Desert

Or [consider such an example] as the one who passed by a township which had fallen into ruin.

He said, “How will Allāh bring this to life after its death?”

So Allāh caused him to die for a hundred years; then He revived him.

He said, “How long have you remained?”

He [the man] said, “I have remained a day or part of a day.”

He said, “Rather, you have remained one hundred years. Look at your food and your drink; it has not changed with time. And look at your donkey; and We will make you a sign for the people. And look at the bones [of this donkey] – how We raise them and then We cover them with flesh.”

And when it became clear to him, he said, “I know that Allāh is over all things competent.”

Koran 2:259
Does tourism come from Allah?

And if you are astonished, [O Muḥammad] – then astonishing is their saying, “When we are dust, will we indeed be [brought] into a new creation?”

Those are the ones who have disbelieved in their Lord, and those will have shackles upon their necks, and those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.

Koran 13:5

1400 years later, they “are [still] dust” in the desert.

And they say, “When we are bones and crumbled particles, will we [truly] be resurrected as a new creation?”

Koran 17:49

That is their recompense because they disbelieved in Our verses and said, “When we are bones and crumbled particles, will we [truly] be resurrected [in] a new creation?”

Koran 17:98

23:33 And the eminent among his people who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter while We had given them luxury in the worldly life said, “This is not but a man like yourselves. He eats of that from which you eat and drinks of what you drink. 34 And if you should obey a man like yourselves, indeed, you would then be losers. 35 Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones that you will be brought forth [once more]? 36 How far, how far, is that which you are promised. 37 It [i.e., life] is not but our worldly life – we die and live, but we will not be resurrected. 38 He is not but a man who has invented a lie about Allāh, and we will not believe him.”

Koran 23:33-38

23:81 Rather, they say like what the former peoples said.

82 They said, “When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 83 We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before; this is not but legends of the former peoples.”

Koran 23:81-83

And We will approach [i.e., regard] what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.

Koran 25:23

1400 years later,…

Treasury, Mecca, Petra, Jordan

27:67 And those who disbelieve say, “When we have become dust as well as our forefathers, will we indeed be brought out [of the graves]? 68 We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before. This is not but legends of the former peoples.”

Koran 27:67-68

And he presents for Us an example and forgets his [own] creation.

He says, “Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated?”

Koran 36:78

37:14 And when they see a sign, they ridicule.

15 And say, “This is not but obvious magic. 16 When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 17 And our forefathers [as well]?”

Koran 37:14-17

37:51 A speaker among them will say, “Indeed, I had a companion [on earth]. 52 Who would say, ‘Are you indeed of those who believe 53 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'”

Koran 37:51-53

50:2 But they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say, “This is an amazing thing. 3 When we have died and have become dust, [we will return to life]? That is a distant [i.e., unlikely] return.”

4 We know what the earth diminishes [i.e., consumes] of them, and with Us is a retaining record.

Koran 50:2-4

56:45 Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence, 46 And they used to persist in the great violation, 47 And they used to say, “When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 48 And our forefathers [as well]?”

Koran 56:45-48

Does man think that We will not assemble his bones?

Koran 75:3

Indeed, We have warned you of an impending punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, “Oh, I wish that I were dust!”

Koran 78:40

79:10 They are [presently] saying, “Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 11 Even if we should be decayed bones?”

Koran 79:10-11
“Even if we should be decayed bones?”

Dust to Dust

From dust to dust,…

All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return.

NIV Ecclesiastes 3:20

O you who have believed, do not invalidate your charities with reminders [of it] or injury as does one who spends his wealth [only] to be seen by the people and does not believe in Allāh and the Last Day.

His example is like that of a [large] smooth stone upon which is dust and is hit by a downpour that leaves it bare.

They are unable [to keep] anything of what they have earned.

And Allāh does not guide the disbelieving people.

Koran 2:264
“smooth stone upon which is dust”

Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allāh is like that of Adam.

He created him from dust; then He said to him, “Be,” and he was.

Koran 3:59

O people, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed – that We may show you.

And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity.

And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing.

And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind.

Koran 22:5

His companion said to him while he was conversing with him, “Have you disbelieved in He who created you from dust and then from a sperm-drop and then proportioned you [as] a man?

Koran 18:37

And of His signs is that He created you from dust; then, suddenly you were human beings dispersing [throughout the earth].

Koran 30:20

And Allāh created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop; then He made you mates.

And no female conceives nor does she give birth except with His knowledge.

And no aged person is granted [additional] life nor is his lifespan lessened but that it is in a register.

Indeed, that for Allāh is easy.

Koran 35:11
Muslim graves

It is He who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot; then He brings you out as a child; then [He develops you] that you reach your [time of] maturity, then [further] that you become elders.

And among you is he who is taken in death before [that], so that you reach a specified term; and perhaps you will use reason.

Koran 40:67

Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him.

Koran 80:21
Bones to dust

But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered

Koran 100:9

And the mountains are broken down, crumbling

Koran 56:5

And become dust dispersing,

Koran 56:6

By the [winds] scattering [dust], dispersing [it]

Koran 51:1

Stirring up thereby [clouds of] dust,

Koran 100:4
Muhammad lies like dust in the desert.

Muhammad lied, like dust in the desert.

Muhammad is dust in the desert.
