Koran – Spirit of God?

Does the Koran mention the Spirit of God, the third person of the Trinity? Let’s see what Muhammad said about the “Pure Spirit”, “Spirit”, “Angel”, or Spirit of God, in the Sahih International translation of the Koran:

Adam

Creation of Adam

15:28 And [mention, O Muḥammad], when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud. 29 And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration.”

Koran 15:28-29

Despite the translator’s addition “[created]”, the words translated as “My soul” is “My spirit”, in the Word by Word of The Quranic Arabic Corpus, who is the Spirit of God.

Then He proportioned him and breathed into him from His [created] soul and made for you hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect]; little are you grateful.

Koran 32:9

Despite the translator’s addition “[created]”, the “soul” is the Spirit of God.

So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration.

Koran 38:72

Despite the translator’s addition “[created]”, the “soul” is the Spirit of God.

Mary

The Annunciation of Gabriel to Mary

And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen

Then We sent to her Our Angel [i.e., Gabriel], and he represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man.

Koran 19:17

Despite the translator’s addition “[i.e., Gabriel]”, the “Our Angel” is the Spirit of God.

And [mention] the one who guarded her chastity [i.e., Mary], so We blew into her [garment] through Our angel [i.e., Gabriel], and We made her and her son a sign for the worlds.

Koran 21:91

Despite the translator’s addition “[i.e., Gabriel]”, the “Our Angel” is the Spirit of God.

And [the example of] Mary, the daughter of ʿImrān, who guarded her chastity, so We blew into [her garment] through Our angel [i.e., Gabriel], and she believed in the words of her Lord and His scriptures and was of the devoutly obedient.

Koran 66:12

Despite the translator’s addition “[i.e., Gabriel]”, the “Our angel” is the Spirit of God.

Jesus

Baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist

And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with the Pure Spirit [i.e., the angel Gabriel].

Excerpt, Koran 2:87

Despite the translator’s addition “[i.e., the angel Gabriel]”, the “Pure Spirit” is the Spirit of God.

Those messengers – some of them We caused to exceed others.

Among them were those to whom Allāh spoke, and He raised some of them in degree.

And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs, and We supported him with the Pure Spirit [i.e., Gabriel].

If Allāh had willed, those [generations] succeeding them would not have fought each other after the clear proofs had come to them.

But they differed, and some of them believed and some of them disbelieved.

And if Allāh had willed, they would not have fought each other, but Allāh does what He intends.

Koran 2:253

Despite the translator’s addition “[i.e., Gabriel]”, the “Pure Spirit” is the Spirit of God.

The Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allāh and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him.

Excerpt, Koran 4:171

Despite the translator’s addition “[created at a command]”, the “soul from Him” is “spirit from him”, in the Word by Word of The Quranic Arabic Corpus, who is the Spirit of God.

The Last Day

The Last Day (of the year).

[The Day] when Allāh will say, “O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Pure Spirit [i.e., the angel Gabriel] and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and [remember] when I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed the blind [from birth] and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, “This is not but obvious magic.”

Koran 5:110

Despite the translator’s addition “[i.e., the angel Gabriel]”, the “Pure Spirit” is the Spirit of God.

The angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years.

Koran 70:4

Despite the translator’s addition “[i.e., Gabriel]”, the “Spirit” is the Spirit of God.

The Day that the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct.

Koran 78:38

Despite the translator’s addition “[i.e., Gabriel]”, the “Spirit” is the Spirit of God.

Dove

Dove – Spirit of God

He sends down the angels, with the inspiration [i.e., revelation] of His command, upon whom He wills of His servants, [telling them], “Warn that there is no deity except Me; so fear Me.”

Koran 16:2

Despite the translator’s addition “[i.e., revelation]”, the “inspiration” is the Spirit of God.

Say, [O Muḥammad], “The Pure Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] has brought it down from your Lord in truth to make firm those who believe and as guidance and good tidings to the Muslims.”

Koran 16:102

Despite the translator’s addition “[i.e., Gabriel]”, the “Pure Spirit” is the Spirit of God.

And they ask you, [O Muḥammad], about the soul.

Say, “The soul is of the affair [i.e., concern] of my Lord. And you [i.e., mankind] have not been given of knowledge except a little.”

Koran 17:85

The “soul” is the Spirit of God.

There’s a hadith on this as well:

While I was walking in company with the Prophet in one of the fields of Medina, the Prophet was reclining on a palm leave stalk which he carried with him. We passed by a group of Jews. Some of them said to the others, “Ask him about the spirit.”

The others said, “Do not ask him, lest he would say something that you hate.”

Some of them said, “We will ask him.”

So a man from among them stood up and said, ‘O Abal-Qasim! What is the spirit?”

The Prophet kept quiet and I knew that he was being divinely inspired. Then he said: “They ask you concerning the Spirit, Say: The Spirit; its knowledge is with my Lord. And of knowledge you (mankind) have been given only a little.” (17.85)

Sahih al-Bukhari 7462

The Trustworthy Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] has brought it down

Koran 26:193

Despite the translator’s addition “[i.e., Gabriel]”, the “Trustworthy Spirit” is the Spirit of God.

[He is] the Exalted above [all] degrees, Owner of the Throne; He places the inspiration of His command [i.e., revelation] upon whom He wills of His servants to warn of the Day of Meeting.

Koran 40:15

Despite the translator’s addition “[i.e., revelation]”, the “inspiration” is the Spirit of God.

And thus We have revealed to you an inspiration of Our command [i.e., the Qur’ān].

You did not know what is the Book or [what is] faith, but We have made it a light by which We guide whom We will of Our servants.

And indeed, [O Muḥammad], you guide to a straight path –

Koran 42:52

Despite the translator’s addition “[i.e., the Qur’ān]”, the “inspiration” is the Spirit of God.

You will not find a people who believe in Allāh and the Last Day having affection for those who oppose Allāh and His Messenger, even if they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred.

Those – He has decreed within their hearts faith and supported them with spirit from Him.

And We will admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally.

Allāh is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him – those are the party of Allāh.

Unquestionably, the party of Allāh – they are the successful.

Koran 58:22

The “spirit” is the Spirit of God.

The angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.

Koran 97:4

Despite the translator’s addition “[i.e., Gabriel]”, the “Spirit” is the Spirit of God.

There are 8 references to the Spirit by himself. Is this a connection to the 1 + 7 = 8 heavens? Or perhaps I’ve missed a reference, making the total 9, which is 3 × 3?

Later, Islamic Origins found a reference to a wooden dove, a symbol of the holy spirit, in Ibn Ishaq:

Ibn Ishaq – Wooden Dove

Tafsir Ibn Kathir

The work of Islamic Scholars

While I was walking with the Prophet on a farm, and he was resting on a palm-leaf stalk, some Jews passed by.

Some of them said to the others, “Ask him about the Ruh.”

Some of them said, “What urges you to ask him about that?”

Others said, “Do not ask him, lest he gives you a reply which you do not like.”

But they said, “Ask him.”

So they asked him about the Ruh.

The Prophet kept quiet and did not give them an answer, and I knew that he was receiving revelation, so I stayed where I was.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 17:85

Hadith

Muslim women using a tablet and taking notes.

Narrated Ibn Abbas:

The Quraish said to the Jews: “Give us something that we can ask this man about.”

So he said: “Ask him about the Ruh.”

So they asked him about the Ruh.

So Allah Most High, revealed:

They ask you concerning the Ruh. Say: “The Ruh is one of the things, the knowledge of which is only with my Lord. And of knowledge, you have been given only a little (17:85).”

They replied: “We have been given immense knowledge, we were given the Tawrah, and whoever has been given the Tawrah, then he has indeed been given a wealth of knowledge.”

So the following was revealed:

Say: “If the sea were ink for the Words of my Lord, surely the sea would be exhausted (before the Words of my Lord would be finished.) (18:109)”

you better go to Jesus, the Word of Allah and His Spirit.

Excerpt, Sahih Muslim 195

Objections

Man with Questions

But, Infidel, the Spirit is Gabriel! This is incoherent with the Koran, Tafsir and Hadith, as shown above.

But, Infidel, the Spirit is an angel of Allah! This is incoherent with Muhammad not knowing what the Ruh or Spirit of God was.

But, Infidel, the Spirit is just a part of Allah, like his two right hands! This is incoherent with Muhammad telling us that the Spirit of God was a man before Mary, so two persons.

Conclusion

Spirit of God – Dove

Despite the additions by the translators “[i.e., Gabriel]” and renaming by translators and Muhammad, the third person of the Trinity, the Spirit of God, is mentioned by Muhammad in his Koran. Obviously, this is incoherent with the doctrine of Allah being one in Islam, so Islam is incoherent and false, so Koran and Allah are false, so Muhammad was a false prophet and a liar.
