What’s the “Criterion” in the Koran? Does it mean “law”? Or something else?
And [recall] when We gave Moses the Scripture and criterion that perhaps you would be guided.
Koran 2:53
Moses is associated with the Decalogue and the Torah. Not with the “Scripture”, except in the most general sense. So the “criterion” could mean the Decalogue, the 10 Commandments?
The month of Ramaḍān [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’ān, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion.
So whoever sights [the crescent of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of other days.
Allāh intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allāh for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.
Koran 2:185
So the Qur’an is “guidance”, “clear proofs” and “criterion”?
3:3 He has sent down upon you, [O Muḥammad], the Book in truth, confirming what was before it.
And He revealed the Torah and the Gospel 4 Before, as guidance for the people.
And He revealed the Criterion [i.e., the Qur’ān].
Indeed, those who disbelieve in the verses of Allāh will have a severe punishment, and Allāh is Exalted in Might, the Owner of Retribution.
Koran 3:3-4
Notice the duplication here. The translators have assumed that the Criterion is the Qur’an, when Muhammad’s “revelation” is oral. Muhammad didn’t receive a book from Allah.
O you who have believed, if you fear Allāh, He will grant you a criterion and will remove from you your misdeeds and forgive you.
And Allāh is the possessor of great bounty.
Koran 8:29
No one has a “criterion” from Allah.
And know that anything you obtain of war booty – then indeed, for Allāh is one fifth of it and for the Messenger and for [his] near relatives and the orphans, the needy, and the [stranded] traveler, if you have believed in Allāh and in that which We sent down to Our Servant on the day of criterion [i.e., decisive encounter] – the day when the two armies met [at Badr]. And Allāh, over all things, is competent.
Koran 8:41
War booty is created by people, not by Allah. Here, the criterion is a day, referring to a battle?
And We had already given Moses and Aaron the criterion and a light and a reminder for the righteous
Koran 21:48
Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion upon His Servant that he may be to the worlds a warner –
Koran 25:1
Muhammad has “the Criterion” upon him?
And those [angels] who bring criterion
Koran 77:4
Who is bringing “criterion”? The translators assume it’s angels. Yet, Jibril is not an angel (and not Gabriel).
Then there’s Koran 5:48:
And We have revealed to you, the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it.
So judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations away from what has come to you of the truth.
To each of you We prescribed a law and a method.
Had Allah willed, He would have made you one nation [united in religion], but [He intended] to test you in what He has given you; so race to [all that is] good.
To Allah is your return all together, and He will [then] inform you concerning that over which you used to differ.
Koran 5:48
The “criterion” here is mistranslated and should be “guardian“. This confirms that Allah’s Book is the same as the Scripture, the Torah and the Bible, which is incoherent nonsense from Muhammad.
Notice the last sentence, claiming we return to Allah, when we don’t come from Allah in the first place. The closest the Koran comes to showing we return to Allah is Jesus with “Allah”, who came from “Allah” in the first place. For more, read “Story of Jesus“.
Muhammad was a false prophet, for a false god, Allah, for a false religion, Islam, without even a false book, the Koran.
