Jesus isn’t God!

Why are the Muslims who claim this wrong? These points are drawn from Islamic theology and Qur’anic reasoning:

  1. God cannot be born — Jesus was born, which implies dependence and temporality.
  2. Jesus never explicitly said “I am God” — Muslims argue that divine claims must be clear and unequivocal.
  3. Jesus said no one has seen God — Yet people saw Jesus.
  4. Jesus prayed — God does not pray; prayer implies submission.
  5. Jesus lacked knowledge — He said only the Father knows the Hour (Mark 13:32).
  6. Jesus was tempted — God is above temptation.
  7. Jesus died (or was believed to have died) — God is eternal and cannot die.
  8. Jesus ate, slept, and needed sustenance — These are human traits, not divine ones.
  9. Jesus performed miracles by God’s permission — Not by his own independent power (Qur’an 3:49).
  10. Jesus affirmed the oneness of God — He called people to worship the Father, not himself.
  11. Jesus was a prophet — Islam honours him as a messenger, not a deity.
  12. The Trinity contradicts pure monotheism (Tawhid) — Islam rejects any division or multiplicity in God’s essence.
