All Night Long!

Who “RODE” Muhammad all night long – and why?
Can Muslims Explain the Weirdest Story About Muhammad Ever?

Translation by Google from an Arabic site:

Arim and Affan told us, they said, Mu`tamar told us, he said, my father told me, Abu Tamimah told me on the authority of Amr, perhaps he said Al-Bikali told him Amr on the authority of Abdullah bin Masoud, Amr said, Abdullah said, “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, sent for me.” He said, “So we set off until I came to such-and-such place. He made a plan for me and said to me, ‘Be at my back. Do not leave it, for if you leave, you will perish’. He said, ‘So I was in it.’ He said, so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, went on, omitting something or taking something away.” As he said, then he mentioned briefly, as if they were Al-Zat, Affan said, or as Affan said, “God willing, they have no clothes on, and I do not see their sides being long and their flesh is little.” He said, “Then they came and began riding the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. He said, and the Prophet of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, recited to them.” He said, “And they began to come to me, imagining, or leaning around me and blocking me.” Abdullah said, “I was greatly terrified by them.” He said, “So I sat down,” or as he said. He said, “And when the pillar of dawn split, they began to go, or As he said, he said, “Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, came heavy with pain, or almost as if it was pain from what they rode on.” He said, “I find myself heavy,” or as he said. Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, placed his head in my lap, or as he said. He said, “Then after a while they came wearing long white clothes,” or as he said, and the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, fell asleep. Abdullah said, “I was terrified by them more than I was terrified the first time.” A’rim said in his hadith. He said, and they said to each other, “This servant has been given to me.” Good, or as they said, “His eyes are asleep,” or he said, “His eyes,” or as they said, “His heart is awake.” Then he said, “Arim and Afan said to one another, ‘Come, let us give him a parable.’ Or as they said, some of them said to one another, ‘Make him a parable,’ and we will interpret. Or, ‘We will give a parable, and you will interpret.’ And some of them said to one another, ‘It is like him, like a master who built a fortified building and then sent food to the people.’ Or as he said, ‘Whoever does not receive his food,’ or he says, ‘does not follow it,’ He will punish him with a severe torment.” Or as the others said, ‘As for the Master, He is Lord of the worlds. As for edification, it is Islam. Food is paradise. He is the one who invites. Whoever follows him will be in Paradise. A’im said in his hadith, or as they said. And whoever does not follow him will be punished, or as he said. Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, woke up and said, “What did you see, O son of Umm Abdul?” Abdullah said, “I saw such-and-such.” Then the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said, “What is hidden from me from what they said?” The Prophet of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said, “They are a group of the angels,” or he said, “They are among the angels,” or as God willed.

Musnad Ahmad 3788

Ibn Mas’ūd narrated:

The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) performed ‘Ishā, then he turned and asked for me. He took my hand and we set out until I came to the wide valley of Makkah. He drew a line for me and said to me: ‘Stay within this line, and do not cross it, for indeed there shall come some men to you, but do not speak to them for they shall not speak to you, and if you cross (the line), you will perish. ‘So I stayed within it. So the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) went on a little, as far as one could throw a stone or a little further.

While I was sitting within the line, some men/shapes of figures [ie jinn] came to me that appeared as if they were black people (ie dark people, like from North Africa or India), both their hair and bodies. They were not wearing any clothes but I could not see their private parts, and they were tall and they had little flesh (ie slim).

Then they returned towards Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) and began towering on top of the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ). The Prophet of Allāh (ﷺ) began to recite the Qur’ān to them. And they started coming to me and surrounding me, and getting in my way. I was extremely scared of them, so I sat down – or words to that effect.

When dawn entered, they started to leave. Then the Messenger of Allāh came and entered into the line with me, looking heavy and in pain, or almost like he was in pain from their towering over him. He (ﷺ) said: ‘I find myself tired’ – or words to that effect. So the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) placed his head on my lap to sleep. And the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) would snore when he slept.

While I was sitting there, after a while, these men came, wearing long white garments, and Allāh knows best how handsome they were. The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) had gone to sleep. They came towards me – I was more afraid than I was the first time – a group of them sat at the head of the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) and a group at his feet. So some of them said to each other: This servant has been given good, his eyes are asleep, but his heart is awake.

Some of them said to one another: Come, let us give him a stop. Some of them said to one another: You coin for him a parable, and we will interpret it, or we will coin for him a parable and you will interpret it.

So some of them said to each other: His parable is that of a leader who built a fortified fort, then he placed a table-spread in it and he invited people to eat and drink. So whoever answers his invitation, he eats from his food and drinks from his drink. And whoever does not come and eat his food, or whoever does not answer his invitation, he will punish him with a severe punishment.

The others said: As for the leader, he is the Lord of the worlds, and as for the fort, it is Islām, and the food is Paradise, and he (the prophet) is the one who invites, so whoever follows him will be in Paradise. And whoever does not follow him will be punished.

Then the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) woke up and said: ‘What did you see, O Ibn Umm ‘Abd?’ ‘Abdullāh said: I saw such-and-such. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘Nothing of what they said was hidden from me.’ The Prophet of Allāh (ﷺ) said: ‘They are a group of the angels.’ Or he said: ‘They are the angels.’

And from another text (the English translation has been altered to hide the homosexual sex act):

Narrated Abu ‘Uthman An-Nahdi:

from Ibn Mas’ud who said:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed ‘Isha, then he turned and took the hand of ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud until he went with him to the wide valley of Makkah. He sat him down, then he drew a line around him. Then he said: ‘Do not go beyond your line, for indeed there shall come some men to you, but do not speak to them for they shall not speak to you.'”

He said: “Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went to where he wanted to go, and while I was sitting within the line, some men came to me that appeared as if they were from Az-Zut (A dark people, either from North Africa or India. See Tuhfat Al-Ahwadhi and An-Nihayah), both their hair and their bodies. I did not see nakedness nor covering. They ended up before me but they did not pass the line. Then they returned toward the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and when it was near the end of the night, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to me while I was sitting, and he said: “I have been awake watching all night’ then he entered into the line with me and lay down on my thigh to sleep. And the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would snore when he slept. So while I was sitting there, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was sleeping (with his head resting) on my thigh, there appeared some men wearing white garments, and Allah knows best just how handsome they were. They came towards me, and a group of them sat at the head of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and a group at his feet. Then they said to each other: ‘We have not ever seen a slave (of Allah) who was given the likes of what this Prophet has been given. Indeed his eyes sleep but his heart remains awake. His parable is that of a chief who built a castle, then he placed a table-spread in it, and invited the people to eat from his food and drink. So whoever answers his invitation, he eats from his food and drinks from his drink. Whoever does not answer, he is punished – or he said – he is chastised.’ Then they alighted and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) awoke at that time, and said: ‘I heard what they were saying. Do you know who they were?’ I said: ‘Allah and His Messenger know better.’ He said: ‘They were the angels. Do you know the meaning of the parable they stated?’ I said: ‘Allah and His Messenger know better.’ He said: ‘The meaning is that Ar-Rahman [Most Blessed and Most High] built Paradise, and He invited His Slaves to it. Whoever replies he shall enter Paradise, and whoever does not reply, he shall be punished or chastised.'”

Ride ’em!

How long was this for?

All[ah] Night Long!

A Song from CosmicObserver

Sung to the tune of “All[ah] Night Long!”

Muhammad climbed a ladder so high,

Alzutt men scrambled to reach the sky.

They tumbled and stumbled in joyous delight,

A chaotic circus all through the night.

One night Muhammad tripped on a goat,

Alzutt men laughed till they all nearly float.

Hats flew like rockets, kites took flight,

A nonsensical spree in the moonlight.

Muhammad ran with socks on his head,

Through Alzutt’s rooftops, leaping with dread.

The men all tumbled, pies in the sky,

A madcap adventure, oh me, oh my!

Muhammad found a magic balloon,

Alzutt men sang a wild cartoon tune.

It lifted them up, then dumped them in hay,

Everyone was banged till the break of day.

Muhammad tripped on a rolling drum,

Alzutt men followed, yelling, “Here we come!”

They bounced off walls, knocked over a cart,

A comic disaster, a work of art!

The men of Alzutt and Muhammad combined,

In rooftop races of every kind.

They slipped, they slid, they laughed, they flew,

A zany adventure the whole town knew.

All[ah] night long!
