Koran 57:26-27

57:26 And We have already sent Noah and Abraham and placed in their descendants prophethood and scripture; and among them is he who is guided, but many of them are defiantly disobedient.

27 Then We sent following their footsteps [i.e., traditions] Our messengers and followed [them] with Jesus, the son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel.

And We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy and monasticism, which they innovated; We did not prescribe it for them except [that they did so] seeking the approval of Allah.

But they did not observe it with due observance.

So We gave the ones who believed among them their reward, but many of them are defiantly disobedient.

Koran 57:26-27

Muhammad starts name-dropping. Muhammad hopes that his incomplete list of famous prophets, all better than he is, will lend legitimacy to his cult. Notice Muhammad’s praise of Christians, with:

…placed in the hearts of those [Christians] who followed him [Jesus] compassion and mercy and monasticism, which they innovated;

Excerpt, Koran 57:27

Muhammad knew that most Christians were better than he and his Muslims. This by itself should give the Muslim reader pause when the false prophet, Muhammad, of your false god, Allah, praises those in an earlier religion, yet wants you in his cult.

The best replacement for this passage is: “”, the empty sentence.
