Koran 20:1-8

20:1 Ta, Ha.

2 We have not sent down to you the Qur’an that you be distressed 3 But only as a reminder for those who fear [Allah] – 4 A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens, 5 The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established.

6 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil.

7 And if you speak aloud – then indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden.

8 Allah – there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names.

Koran 20:1-8

Verse 1 is a “Muqatta’at” or Mysterious Letters. As the Koran is supposedly the clear and perfect words of perfect Allah as recorded in perfect Allah’s perfect Qur’an, this sentence should not exist in Muhammad’s Koran, as they are not clear and they are not capable of being translated into English words.

There’s a story in Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 20:1, explaining:

Ad-Dahhak said, “When Allah sent the Koran down to His Messenger, he and his Companions adhered to it.”

Thus, the idolaters of the Quraysh said, “This Koran was only revealed to Muhammad to cause him distress.”

Therefore, Allah revealed,…

Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 20:1

Notice also that the scholars of Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 20:1 admit: “Allah sent” and “Allah revealed”. Note that the Koran is supposedly related by Jibril to Muhammad, and as Allah reacts to events, Allah is influenced by humans, thus showing Allah doesn’t have a plan, and didn’t plan or create the Koran. Simply put, this passage is yet another reaction by Muhammad, pretending to be Allah, and reciting as Allah or rather “We”. Notice in the passage that “We”, Muhammad and the Demon are speaking, and referring to Allah in the third person. These aren’t the words of a real god, but those of a mere human and demon talking about an imaginary god, a lie in other words.

Notice in verse 3: “But only as a reminder for those who fear [Allah]” – so the Koran is only for those who fear – who? The translator adds “[Allah]” to the text. Even the scholars of Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 20:1, have added in “(Allah)”. I suggest the original works better, “those who fear”. After all, it’s the demon who’s speaking here:

Notice the difference and variation with “He who created…” and “To Him belongs”. This is an obvious corrupt repetition.

Verse 6 continues the demon’s speech in the third person: “To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil.” Notice that the demon forgot about what is in the salty sea. There are fish and whales there:

Perhaps Muhammad and Demon didn’t know about these animals, our fellow mammals, who used to all dwell on the land.

And of course, there’s the fish, crabs, octopus, squid, shellfish, sharks and many others.

Again, Muhammad probably didn’t know about them despite earlier saying they’re lawful:

Lawful to you is game from the sea and its food as provision for you and the travelers,…

Koran 5:96

And despite earlier, repeating a story that features a magical salted fish:

He said, “Did you see when we retired to the rock? Indeed, I forgot [there] the fish…

Koran 18:63

And don’t mention the Story of Jonah or the Story of Noah.

Muhammad and Demon continue to tell lies about Allah: “And if you speak aloud – then indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden.” This is just Muhammad trying to frighten people into not talking about their pagan deity Allah, his three daughters, and their lion:

Muhammad denies the polytheism of Allah, his wife, daughters and pet lion with: “Allah – there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names.”

The best replacement for this passage is: “”, the empty sentence.
