17:32 And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse.
Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is evil as a way.
Koran 17:32
This verse is a corrupt repetition and variation of Muhammad’s own saying earlier in Koran 6:151:
Say, “…
And do not approach immoralities – what is apparent of them and what is concealed.
This has He instructed you that you may use reason.”
Koran 6:151
Allah copies what Muhammad said earlier and restates it here, showing Allah is an alternative personality of Muhammad, not a real god.
In Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 17:32, the scholars record a conversation between Muhammad and a young man, which is a teaching moment that should be in the Koran. But what’s really important is the last sentence said by Muhammad which is:
O Allah, forgive his sin, purify his heart and guard his chastity.
Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 17:32
Muhammad in this tale does better than Muhammad and Allah do in the Koran, explaining that chastity is required. But Muhammad is unable to explain that women should be chaste as well before marriage and that the man and the woman in marriage should also be chaste, restricting their sex to each other and not with others. Of course, being chaste in marriage also forbids polygamy and sex slavery, which Muhammad desired, while also preventing STIs. Perhaps if Muhammad had obeyed this command of his, he would have had one wife and no STI preventing him from having children of his own.
Note as well, that prostitution in many countries is legal and regulated, and Muhammad is unable to account for this, as well as for effective preventative measures. Instead, Muhammad advocates sex slavery and forbids his men from castrating themselves by choice, in other verses of the Koran.
Worse, some people do not want children. Muhammad can’t account for this, and can only whine about people killing children they do not want and can’t care for in the previous passage, Koran 17:31.
The best replacement for this passage is: “”, the empty sentence.
