Koran 16:28-29

16:28 The ones whom the angels take in death [while] wronging themselves, and [who] then offer submission, [saying], “We were not doing any evil.”

But, yes! Indeed, Allah is Knowing of what you used to do.

29 So enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and how wretched is the residence of the arrogant.

Koran 16:28-29

Muhammad, in his Koran, addresses a sentence, verse, or passage to “Anonymous They”, with “they”, “them”, “he”, “your”, “the people”, and so on, without naming them. For more, read Anonymous They.

Muhammad spoke about Allah in the third person. This means this passage is not the perfect words of the perfect Qur’an from perfect Allah. Thus, Allah is false, imaginary, and fictional, which means Islamic doctrine and Islam are nonsensical and false.

Muhammad lied: “The ones whom the angels take in death…”. Angels don’t cause or take people “in death”. This should be obvious because of the fact that people who die are picked up, put in coffins, have funerals or not, and then get buried or cremated. Any who has a suspicious-looking death is investigated by the coroner to find out if the death could have an outside cause, like an accident, murder, or so on.

But, Infidel, this refers to the angels taking the SOULS of the dead people! But there are no “souls” in Islam. For more on this, read Koran – Soul?

But, but, Infidel, of course, there are souls in Islam! But there aren’t any souls in Islam. Recall the torment of the grave in Islam:

In Islam the souls of the unrighteous are punished by two angels in the grave, while the righteous find the grave “peaceful and blessed”.

Punishment of the Grave

But, Infidel! There’s SOULS right there?! Indeed, but that is a mistake by the authors of Wikipedia who let their own Judaeo-Christian background with the concept of “souls” work against them. This is the Judaeo-Christian presumption, your soul leaving your body:

Soul leaving body

Now let’s see what Muhammad has to say in the hadith:

Once the Prophet, while passing through one of the graveyards of Medina or Mecca heard the voices of two persons who were being tortured in their graves.

The Prophet said, “These two persons are being tortured not for a major sin (to avoid).”

The Prophet then added, “Yes! (they are being tortured for a major sin). Indeed, one of them never saved himself from being soiled with his urine while the other used to go about with calumnies (to make enmity between friends).

The Prophet then asked for a green leaf of a date-palm tree, broke it into two pieces and put one on each grave.

On being asked why he had done so, he replied, “I hope that their torture might be lessened, till these get dried.”

Sahih al-Bukhari 216

As you can see the “Punishment in the Grave” is related to being dead and being in a grave. Not as a “soul”, a disembodied person, in “Heaven”, “Hell”, “Paradise” or “Fire”. Now, consider the cremated person. How can they be punished, now that they’re ash and dust?

So where did this come from? Let’s see what Aisha has to say:

Aisha said that a Jewess came to her and mentioned the punishment in the grave, saying to her, “May Allah protect you from the punishment of the grave.”

Aisha then asked Allah’s Messenger about the punishment of the grave.

He said, “Yes, (there is) punishment in the grave.”

Aisha added, “After that I never saw Allah’s Messenger but seeking refuge with Allah from the punishment in the grave in every prayer he prayed.”

Sahih al-Bukhari 1372

As you can see, “Punishment in the Grave” comes from a random Jewess, and the real origin of this tale is a fairy story by the Jews told to Jewish children to stop them urinating indoors. Muhammad incorporated this Jewish fairy story into his cult, his Islam, because he didn’t know any better and because it sounded “cool” to him.

Obviously, a dead person who does NOT have a soul can’t “offer submission”, and can’t speak for all with “We were not doing any evil” or even individually. No angels are beating up dead people in the grave. We notice no difference between Muslims in graves and others in graves. Both situations seem the same, and ancient sites with Muslim dead bodies in them, are undisturbed in archaeological excavations in Spain, around the Mediterranean or in Saudi Arabia.

Muslim graves

But, Infidel, those were GOOD Muslims who didn’t have the punishment of the grave! The “good” Muslims in graves seem similar to the “not-so-good” Christians in graves. For example in the Guardian, “Archaeologists identify oldest Muslim graves ever found in Europe” the bodies are identifiable as Muslim and don’t seem to have suffered from the punishment of the grave. Similarly PLOS ONE, “Early Medieval Muslim Graves in France”, is the original source for the article. Also with “The Lonely Grave of Güllü Ayşa”, the grave of what seems like a bad Muslim and Christians, and none seem to be afflicted with the “Punishment in the Grave”. Similar to the Muslim burial in “An Islamicate Body”. Feel free to search for more, to see that historically and archaeologically, Muslim and non-Muslim corpses do not suffer from “Punishment in the Grave”, contrary to the claim of Muhammad in the Hadith.

So the “Punishment in the Grave” is nonsense, and entirely avoidable as a Christian. So from that, and the fact that Muhammad has groups of infidels speaking as one person, we know this passage is nonsense, followed by lies about Allah, in other words, it comes from Muhammad the Liar.

The best replacement for this passage is: “”, the empty sentence.
