Koran 7:138-139

7:138 And We took the Children of Israel across the sea; then they came upon a people intent in devotion to [some] idols of theirs.

They said, “O Moses, make for us a god just as they have gods.”

He said, “Indeed, you are a people behaving ignorantly. 139 Indeed, those [worshippers] – destroyed is that in which they are [engaged], and worthless is whatever they were doing.”

Muhammad commits shirk with: “We”, “Us” or “Our”, placing Allah as a companion to himself, showing that Allah is incoherent, imaginary, and fictional, and so Islam is incoherent with monotheism, thus Islam is contradictory and false.

Who are the “They” who said: “O Moses, make for us a god just as they have gods”? It’s the companions of Muhammad. From Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 7:138:

…they (the Companions) went out from Makkah with the Messenger of Allah for (the battle of) Hunayn. Abu Waqid said, “Some of the disbelievers had a lote tree whose vicinity they used to remain in, and upon which they would hang their weapons on. That tree was called ‘Dhat Al-Anwat’. So when we passed by a huge, green lote tree, we said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! Appoint for us a Dhat Al-Anwat as they have.’

He [Muhammad] said, “By He in Whose Hand is my soul! You said just as what the people of Musa said to him:…”

In other words, this incident came first, and the Koran passage is the response of Muhammad. Muhammad’s men were making fun of Muhammad and Muhammad, being annoyed by their mocking of him, is “reminded”, but gets it wrong and then creates this passage of the Koran to make himself right, and slams it into his invented narrative of the Israelites and Moses in Exodus, obviously thinking that no one would notice. That is why this passage isn’t from Exodus. It’s from Muhammad’s life, a bad recollection of the start of NIV Exodus 32, The Golden Calf:

32 When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, “Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.”

This Koran passage is a disguised reference to Muhammad’s time and place, his context, meaning Muhammad is a false prophet and liar which means Allah, Islam and Islamic doctrine are incoherent and false. As such, the best replacement for this passage is: “”, the empty sentence.
