Koran 2:188

And do not consume one another’s wealth unjustly or send it [in bribery] to the rulers in order that [they might aid] you [to] consume a portion of the wealth of the people in sin, while you know [it is unlawful].

Koran 2:188

Note that this verse is obviously incomplete. Thus it’s not perfect. Thus it’s not the perfect word of the perfect Qur’an from perfect Allah. According to Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 2:188, this verse is:

…about the indebted person when there is no evidence of the loan. So he denies taking the loan and the case goes to the authorities, even though he knows that it is not his money and that he is a sinner, consuming what is not allowed for him…

Tafsir Ibn Kathir 2:188

Note that the west has contracts to eliminate these kind of problems, to record and make clear what is owned, owed and so on, so that a judge can rule on contract disputes fairly and well. We see from history that contracts do vastly better for all including Islam, for hundreds of years, showing that this verse is impractical and stupid, a far worse way that demonstrates the impotence of Allah in not revealing the truth of the matter. So the replacement for this verse is: “”, the empty sentence.
